General Questions
An expander container home is a house made from shipping containers that can open up to increase space. In this case a 20ft container home opens up to a 36m2 home and a 40ft container home opens up to a 72m2 home.
The house is constructed with a combination of materials designed to maximize insulation and durability. The 75mm sandwich panels with EPS (expanded polystyrene) are indeed a good choice for thermal insulation. These panels typically have a core of insulating material sandwiched between two layers of a protective material, in this case, a steel sheet.
Here’s a brief summary of the key elements:
Floor: Cold-rolled steel profiles offer a strong and stable foundation. This material is often chosen for its strength and ability to support the structure effectively.
Walls and Roof: Insulated with EPS, which provides excellent thermal insulation. EPS is known for its low thermal conductivity, which helps maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and reduce energy costs.
Protective Layer: The steel sheet (zinc sheet) covering the panels adds durability and protects against environmental factors like moisture and corrosion, extending the lifespan of the building materials.
1. Initial Consultation: We begin by discussing your needs and preferences to understand your requirements for the container home.

6. Site Preparation: While your home is under construction, you should prepare the site. This includes completing the foundation, footings/slab, and groundwork. Ensure that plumbing, water, and electrical connections are planned and ready for when the unit arrives.
7. Final Payment: Before shipping, the remaining 50% of the payment is required.
8. Shipping and Delivery: The entire process, from design to delivery, typically takes 100-120 days, including shipping time. Once the unit arrives in your country, you will be responsible for handling the final installation and connections.
9. Completion: After delivery, you will take over the final steps to complete the setup of your expander container home.
Unfortunately not. For shipping to Rarotonga the 20ft expander costs $7500 to $10,000 and the 40ft expander costs $15,000.-$20,000. Shipping costs to other countries will be quoted separately based on the destination.
Footings/slab and groundwork need to be completed before road transport delivers the unit. Please ensure to plan ahead for plumbing, water and electrical connections so that the unit can be connected to these services.
For a 20ft expander, it usually takes about 2-3 weeks, and for a 40ft, around 3-4 weeks
